Dear India,
I am putting in my two weeks notice. I'm actually a bit early— my last day will be May 15, exactly two weeks after my birthday this coming Wednesday. As great as you've been, I've come to the conclusion that we are not a great permanent fit.
Whereas I need an element of peace and calm in my exterior atmosphere to help balance the often over-stressed and over-thinking mind I call my own, I have been unable to find an adequate amount of this in my time here. Although this lifestyle is feasible for many, I find that without an extended break from the constant traffic, crowds, and general chaos, I begin to shutdown. If I cannot operate at full capacity while here, then it is not a worthwhile partnership for either of us.
This does not mean I'm not grateful for the time I spent here. In fact, quite the contrary is true. I have gained so many skills, grown so much, created lifelong bonds, and gained a much deeper understanding of a variety of complex issues in my time here, and for this I could not be more grateful. India, you will always hold a special place in my heart, and I do not view these memories as tainted in any way due to the realization that you are not the perfect longterm fit for me.
I'm sure I will be back again some day. In fact, this is something I'm quite sure of. I believe we will again have productive and beautiful partnerships in the future, but in the present, it is simply time to move on.
Again, thank you for what you have been for the past few months. I look forward to my final two weeks here before I move on to new and different things.
All the best,
Kailyn Robert
