Blog #71: Time

Okay first of all, time is a meaningless social construct. I've probably mentioned this before, I'll probably mention it again. Like... today my professor from Arizona told me that the state doesn't observe Daylight Saving Time, and therefore their 'time zone' is only applicable for half the year. Literally, Arizona just chooses to observe time differently. It's a social construct!!

Also there was no Daylight Saving Time here, so the 11.5 hour time difference between here and home was changed and I honestly don't know in which direction and I don't understand it so I just don't try to understand it anymore.

Anyway, that's not really the point of this blog post. Really, I'm just shook at how fast time has flown by here in India. I knew this would happen, yet somehow I'm still surprised by it.

When I look back at individual memories, like our first conversation about religion at 3am in the Bangalore airport, or our first Bollywood dance class, they seem farrrrr away. So much has happened between now and then!

Yet, at the same time, when I think about my time in India in general, I feel like I could blink and miss it. I can hardly believe I've been here for three months! And, as I'm nearing this final month, I know it will be long gone before I know it.

I'm going to spend this entire upcoming week traveling, and the adventures will zoom by. When I return, I'll be immersed in final projects, and then studying for final exams. Then... it'll be over. In the words of my Irish mate Emma, "I can't cope!"

Seriously though... It's crazy how much has happened in the last three months, and crazier to imagine what will happen in the upcoming final month. Although it's flown by too fast for me to comprehend, I'm grateful for every little moment of it, and I can't wait to savor these memories for the rest of my life.

Time is still weird though.

This is the very first picture I took in India!
