Blog #65: Western Clothes

This is dumb. I miss my Western clothes.
I love the notion of being a minimalist and needing very few clothing items, and although I can live that way, I must admit that I really do miss my closet from back home.
I have always expressed myself through my clothes, and although I enjoy wearing Indian clothing and respect the culture I'm living in, I've begun to feel like a part of my identity is missing.
My identity isn't my closet, but what I wear does help me express myself. I intentionally wear clothes that I feel like purvey my personality, and my outfit choices are often conversation starters. Not being able to wear Western clothing throughout the week, and having very limited options on the rare occasion that I do get to wear Western clothing, has made me feel somewhat stifled in this element of self expression.
I know it's silly, but there are specific outfits I miss (shout out to my mom jeans and vintage Levi's denim jacket and that floral romper pictured above). Still, I miss my closet, and that's just the truth of the matter, whether it's silly or not.
