Dear Mom,
I told you that you'd get another of these soon!
I was talking with my friends Leeann and Sarah tonight, and the topic of family, and specifically my family, kept coming up. The thing is, you and Leeann have gone through some seemingly similar life experiences, and I can't help but find a few similarities between the two of you. Although you are different in many ways, you are similar in many others as well.
Although I talked about the whole family for probably an hour, and cried about you for the second time in a week, Leeann kept pointing out that most of what I was saying revolved around you, not me or the rest of the family.
From me being your "mini-me" when I was younger, to me realizing our many differences as I grew older, I couldn't stop talking about you and the way you have shaped me and my life. And, although Leeann kept asking me about other parts of my family, or other experiences growing up, I could't help but return to you with every story. You are at the center of our family, and you always will be.
I could go on, but I feel there will be a number of these blog-letters in the future. So, for now, I will take the advice you have given me for ten years now and I will go to bed.
I love you, I admire you, and I'm grateful for you. You are the center of our family and you inspire me every day.
I love you,
Kailyn.

My heart swells.
