Emerson once said that
Earth laughs in flowers
And I can't help but to laugh along with her
Chains of daisies tied together
By the stained thumbs of sisters
And friends laughing on the riverbank
Petals of lilac, traffic cone orange
Fall on my head
And we laugh, watching our world rain flowers
Pressed between pages of
Black and white words
And I laugh at the memories on hilltops and mountainsides,
creek beds and pastures
Laughter will find me
Like I will find flowers
And I hope I stay laughing, 'til flowers grow from my lips,
where my laughter once fell
