*Brief disclaimer- I wrote this post last night, but didn't have any wifi to post it. Hence, the post is late, but the blog itself was on time!*
Today I made poori from scratch. Let’s keep in mind that the last time I tried to make Indian food on my own… it literally ended in an explosion.
So, today was a success! I didn’t only make poori, I also made chana masala (from a pre-packaged pouch), and shared my Indian meal with my good friend Sarah. We indulged in Indian food while partaking in lively conversation… Sarah always makes me laugh. Today reminded me that sometimes the most important things one should focus on are the simplest. Food and friendship are powerful, but underrated. (Sarah says “true fact” about that.) If I’ve learned nothing else in India, it’s that pursuing the simple things that bring me joy are often the most fulfilling. My life has been filled with accomplishments, but nothing has made me feel more whole than my connections with other people, whether it be through food, dance, song, or otherwise. People are important. Everything else finds its path.
