Blog #311: Mum's Birthday

Today is my mom's 50th birthday, and wow... I've never known anyone who looks so much like they're turning 35 instead. (Not that my mom's worth is measured by her youthful beauty or agelessness, but it's a nice touch.)

Mum is the anchor of our family, the North Star, our fearless leader. How she manages to know and care for an additional five people so well is beyond me. Still, in spite of the seemingly endless attention and love she gives to our family, she manages to be a badass business owner, a community leader, and a fun-loving concert-goer, among other things.

There are a million things I could say about my mom, and if you know her, you know. If you don't know her... I'm sorry.

I'm just so grateful for my family and how close we all are, and this is no coincidence. I really believe it's due in large part to intentional, relentless work by my mom. She is the center of it all.
