Ally and I stepped outside into the piercing winter cold, walking swiftly from the caf to our apartment. Mid-conversation, we looked down at the curb to see a pair of crutches laying in the grass with no apparent owner.

Almost instantly, we turned to each other and quoted John Mulaney.

"Something happened here. You hope it was a miracle... but probably not."
