Blog #265: Dear Mariel (For Now)

Dear Mariel,

I love you.

I know birthdays are weird and getting old is weirder and in a lot of ways it sucks because sometimes all we can get is a ten minute phone call every couple weeks, even on your birthday. Still, I hope your day was magic.

Please know that I have been looking forward to writing your birthday blog post for a while now, but sitting here at 2am after staying up doing homework (and almost crying like... 13 times today from exhaustion and stress), I need to go to sleep. I just have to.

That said, I don't want to rush writing your birthday blog post, because you deserve better!! And, as crappy as I feel about putting it off until later... that seems pretty typical of me anyway, right?

So, for now, happy birthday and I love you. Part two of this birthday blog post will be coming soon.
