Blog #244: Into the Streets

Yesterday was Morningside's Into the Streets! This is an event organized by Omicron Delta Kappa, a leadership Honor society (and yours truly was on the committee in charge of the event). During Into the Streets, classes are cancelled and students go out to dozens of different community organizations to volunteer their time for them. From churches to schools and almost everything in between, Morningsiders can be found doing yardwork, interacting with kids, or in my case, cleaning cars for the Sioux City Police Department. This year, nearly 900 students volunteered their day at over 80 organizations across the community! Events like this are just a part of what makes Morningside so special, and I've enjoyed being a part of it for the past four years.
