Dear Ally,

This blog post started as an open letter to the democratic presidential candidates. Stemming from our conversation yesterday, I have a lot to say to them, and so I started writing a letter to address the issues I take with them.

Unfortunately, I felt I could not authentically finish this letter without your present and active input. It felt disingenuous to initiate a conversation with the candidates without you. We hashed out our thoughts together, and so I felt we should address those thoughts with the candidates together. After all, half of what I was writing was more or less your words, not mine.

I started writing that letter at approximately 10pm on this lovely Friday evening, but much to my dismay, you were already long asleep. Given your recent history of sleep activities (sleep-walking, sleep-changing, sleep-mumbling), I almost considered consulting you in your sleep. Still, I followed my better judgment, and practiced patience. Therefore, I have two requests for you:

1. Help me write an open letter to the democratic presidential candidates. They need our help.

2. Please refrain from going to sleep until I have determined I no longer need your help or input for the rest of the night. This would save me a great deal of trouble, I'm sure you will understand.

These are the only requests I make, and I trust we can move forward together to implement them for the sake of my own personal convenience. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Your patient and gracious roommate,

Kailyn
