Blog #222: Protein Shakes

Never, in my entire life, did I imagine I would be the type of person who would drink protein shakes. That's just not who I am.
Or, at least, that's not who I was.
Today, as I walked from the weight room to my apartment, I realized how much I was looking forward to my protein shake. I make it with almond milk. It tastes like chocolate milk from my childhood. I was really ready to drink it, and I can't believe I'm saying that.
I guess I should note that the protein I'm drinking is vegan, organic, naturally sourced 100% from plants, and I make it with organic almond milk in a large glass mason jar. So... like... even though I'm drinking protein, it's still a pretty Kailyn way to do it. Also, I wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for my near-vegan diet. I just can't work out this much without a consistent protein source.
But still, I'm drinking protein shakes, and I even bought the little "blender ball" things to put in my mason jar to make sure I don't have any chunks! It's not that it's necessarily a bad thing, but it's just not something I ever imagined I'd be doing.
On a different note, be on the lookout for buff Kailyn. I've been lifting for half a week now and with all this protein, I'm bound to be totally ripped in no time.
