No matter the situation, there's always one good thing I have to say about Kansas; you can't beat a Kansas sunset. The sky is so big, and the colors seriously look like there's a giant Bob Ross nearby mixing the hues together until he has the perfect shade to smear across the sky. Often, there are a few happy little clouds.

On my drive back to Sioux City today, the sunset was just insane, and for the first time I admitted it to myself; it's not just a Kansas sunset, it's a Midwest sunset. If I'm being entirely honest I don't know if I was in Nebraska or Iowa, but nevertheless, the sunset was just amazing. I almost couldn't take my eyes off of it, but my parents told me to drive safely, so I obliged and returned my eyes to the road.

The oranges were bright but not blinding, the pinks ranging from pastel to almost neon. The blue that was fading away was clear and commanding. I tell you... I nearly pulled off the road just to stop and take a good look at it.

Now that I'm back in the Midwest at least semi-permanently, I know I have at least this one thing to look forward to every single day; a big, bright Midwest sunset.

Disclaimer- this isn't the sunset from tonight, but from our bike ride a couple nights ago. But still! Just look at it!
