Blog #191: Today I Was Actually in Kansas and Iowa

Today I was in direct violation of my blog because I was, in fact, both in Kansas and Iowa.
Oops.
Although the blog was started when I was very far from Kansas/Iowa, both physically and mentally, today I had an unexpected feeling; it's good to be back.
There's just something about the rolling fields of wheat and corn, and the wide open sky that appears to go on forever. I was in a "Life is a Highway" by Rascal Flatts kind of mood, which is... odd for me, to say the least.
In some way, it felt like I was seeing Kansas/Iowa for the first time. (I keep referring to them together because let's be honest, for most intents and purposes... they're pretty much the same.) I was raised around corn fields and grain silos and wide open spaces, but for the first time in my life, these felt somewhat foreign to me. There was beauty in it I'd never seen before, but as always, a sense of home as well.
Pretty soon I'll be out of here and I will honestly say "I'm not in Kansas anymore!" but for at least a couple days, we'll just pretend that's not the name of the blog.
