Blog #162: Very Tired I Am

I am so tired I am so tired.

After a late night last night, Sofi, Jolson, and I packed up a picnic and went to the beach. It took us a long time to get there, but we finally made it around 3 in the afternoon. It was packed, but it was still nice to just lay in the sand and chill for a while.

When we were done at the beach, Sofi went home, but Jolson and I headed to Taste of Chicago, a massive food festival in Grant Park. It was also crowded as all get out, but that can be expected on a Saturday afternoon in downtown Chicago... Along with the copious amounts of food, there was also a free concert at the event, which was really cool! The band that played tonight was the Strumbellas,a group Jolson and I both like (and saw together over three years ago at Buzz Beach Ball, our first music festival together!).Among other things at the food fest/concert, we witnessed the worst karaoke set in modern history, a grandmother recording her two teenage granddaughters fighting/beating the crap out of each other, and interpretative dancing from a middle-aged woman to her husband.

It was a fun day, but it was also the type of day that makes my brain and body shut down from exhaustion. Still, it's Jolson's last weekend up here with me, so we're going full out and squeezing every last drop out of every minute.
