Okay, so I'm not usually one for diets. I generally eat a fairly healthy diet and don't feel the need to go on some stringent and restrictive plan.

That said, I'm starting a new diet! For a week.

I've been eating mostly vegetarian here (halfway out of choice, halfway because meat is expensive, pals) and haven't really been eating a lot of gluten. Neither of these were really intentional, they just kind of happened when I started buying my own groceries and cooking my own meals.

But, this week, I decided I wanted to challenge myself and be very intentional about my diet, so I'm going vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free. I've also cut out most, if not all, processed sugars. I would honestly just try going vegan for a week, but there are some animal products I still can't go without (here's looking at you, eggs and honey). Still, I don't eat a lot of dairy in general, so I figured I'd try cutting it out completely.

I'm not trying to lose weight with this diet or stick with it forever, but I figured a week of really clean eating couldn't do any harm, and it would be a fun challenge to try! I've done a lot of meal and snack prep, which will make it waaaaaay easier to stick to this. That said, I know that things come up, so I'm also allowing myself one "cheat meal" if I'm out to eat with friends or something.

Again, I'm not trying this diet for any reason other than challenging myself to eat as healthy as possible for a week. I love me a challenge!

Wish me luck, because I may need it. Or, who knows... maybe this diet will stick.

Look at my new succulents! Aren't they pretty? I wonder if I could incorporate them into my new diet...
