Blog #144: A New Week

Ahhh, the joys of starting a new week, filled to the brim with opportunities for a new routine.

Even when they're small, I love the feeling of a new beginning. Hell, I like the feeling of a new beginning almost every single day! (Because, in the words of Michael Buble; it's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life... for meeeeee.)

I know it sounds cliché level 1000, but it seriously is true. Maybe I'm still riding the new-move high, but I love getting up and going to work every morning, and I love going home to attempt a new "routine." From meal preps (which has been a routine I've actually stuck with so far), to yoga, to practicing Spanish, to running, or to reading, I like the feeling of going to work to help others, then coming home and doing things to help myself.

And, with that, I'm going to officially cut myself off from this over the top cliche-ness. That was a close call.

Anyway, there's one routine that I'm like halfway sticking with that I actually really want to push myself to stick to, and that's reading! I've challenged myself to read one book a week while here in Chicago, and now on the first day of week two, I'm only about halfway through my first book. Agh!

Although I know the goal of one book a week is entirely arbitrary, and even if I end up reading more than usual it will have been an accomplishment, I still like a challenge. (As we know, here on day 144 of this whole blog thing.) And so, because my brain is oriented that way, I'm going to try and finish the second half of this book, as well as another book before next week.

Also, perhaps some book reviews will make for good blogging material. Considering we (and by we, I mean I) are not even halfway through with this year of blogging thing, I need all the content I can get.

P.S. I have literally been the absolute worst at taking pictures lately (hard to find things photogenic when you're sitting in a cubicle for most of your waking hours) but this is just a screenshot to let everyone know that my college got LIL SEBASTIAN at their summer enrollment day. I freaked out. I hope you do too.
