Is it weird that only today I truly came to understand the concept of a lazy Sunday?

I've worked all throughout college so far, and one of my longest shifts was always on Sunday. From 11am until usually about 9pm, I waited tables at the good ol' Olive Garden. After that, I went home to finish the homework I'd procrastinated and hopefully get a little sleep before class the next day. Sundays were anything but a lazy day.

Even in times when I wasn't consistently working that much on Sundays- my time in India, high school, etc.- I still didn't truly grasp the notion of lazy Sundays. Maybe it was because I had fewer real-life commitments, or because, when it came down to it, I could be kind of lazy any day of the week.

All of that changed for me today.

For the first time in a week, I slept in however long I wanted, knowing that it would be the only day of each week that that would be an option. I didn't have to work, and I didn't have any homework to get done before the next day. And, although I almost sent some work emails and started some work tasks, I was able to refrain from doing so and remind myself that work can be done at work. (Which is kind of the opposite frame of mind I've come to have in college.)

Knowing that I was getting ready to start a busy week, I let myself do as little as I wanted. It was my last day off, after all, and I've got to take advantage of resting time when I can! So, I did nothing, knowing that I would be doing a lot the next five days, and it was great. I think I now fully understand why Sunday is a lazy day for so many people, and why many choose to do as little as possible on that day.

Although I do love my job, I'll be honest in saying that I definitely enjoyed my lazy Sunday too.

Basically the only productive thing I did today was make dinner, and since I've been bad about taking pictures, here is literally the recipe I based my dinner on tonight. It was good. Use this recipe if you want.
