A lot of people have asked me what I'm going to do in Berlin, or what all I'm going to see. What I've said is that I'm going to see Lena's apartment and the train station when I leave. Even though this is a bit of an exaggeration (we went thrift shopping today and went to a wine bar!) I haven't really DONE a whole lot... At least, according to some people. To me, I've already done what I wanted most in Berlin, which was to spend time with my friend Lena. Forget the fancy restaurants, museums, and Brandenburger Tor; we spent two hours at the kitchen table today talking politics, feminism, and a million other things after breakfast. This is what I really wanted. We've caught up on family statuses and school issues and updated each other on boys and everything in between. We've reminisced about the times we've spent together in the past, although they are so few, and remarked at how young we were when we met. (I repeat... It's already been six years folks!!) So yeah, I haven't really DONE a whole lot here in Berlin. I haven't seen a lot of things either. But, that said, I've seen the most important thing in the city, and that's Lena. I don't really need a whole lot more.
